High-deductible health insurance plans help keep monthly premiums low, but often make consumers want to live in a bubble. IHC Specialty Benefits’ supplemental health insurance product, Metal Gap, helps relieve worries over unexpected medical bills. Metal Gap pays lump-sum benefits for accidents and illnesses.
When a covered incident occurs, a check is sent directly to the insured who chooses how to use it. The benefit can help pay their health insurance deductible, coinsurance, copay and even household expenses. Most IHC supplemental plans cost less than $/day. Plus, Metal Gap is guaranteed issue, which means anyone qualifies regardless of health history.

Serious medical conditions can cause serious stress, and hospital insurance is designed to help with the bills so families can focus on what matters most. Hospital insurance plans pay a lump-sum cash benefit upon diagnosis of a covered medical condition. The insured chooses how to spend the money: out-of-pocket healthcare expenses, household bills, childcare, transportation, experimental treatment and more.
Our hospital insurance plan includes benefits for serious conditions such as cancer, heart attack, stroke, major organ failure, coronary bypass, angioplasty, coma, paralysis and severe burn. Benefits options range from $20,000 to $50,000 for primary insured and spouse, with a $10,000 option for children.
